Flattening Metal
Either before cutting to relieve internal stresses in sheet and plate, or after punch/ laser/ plasma/ oxy- profiling to remove distortion. Get parts with straight edges for welding and parts that will bend to drawing and all without costly or messy hydraulics.

WHY DE-STRESS, FLATTEN AND LEVEL?
Any metal material that where force is applied is subject to metal stress. Steel processing methods such as cutting and welding cause metal stress.
It all rather depends on the quality of your products and your level of automation. But generally levelling before cutting, and de-stressing after punching or laser-cutting make the plate/ sheet/ components fit; fit the laser, plasma or oxy-bed tolerances, fit the welding jig, fit together for assembly, and generally fit for purpose.
