GE Machinery – Deburring and Metal Finishing Machinery

Slag Grinding

From Slag Grinding to Calibrating & Tolerance Grinding, GE Machinery machines do the best job on all GE Machinery metal finishing applications.

Slag Grinding

We offer various types of machinery for the removal of very heavy burrs from Oxy-Acetylene Cutting, Plasma Cutting and Drilling for the removal with or without surface grinding (leave scale on to prevent weld spatter sticking), with or without edge breaking or radiussing of over 2mm if required.

SLAGGRINDING & LASER OXIDE EDGE REMOVAL

Slag is defined as a type of sand that is traditionally derived from steel. It is a rough, stone-like waste product that is created during the deburring process of metal parts. After a grinder deburrs sheet metal, the parts that chip off are known as slag. In the process of slag grinding all heavy slag is removed quickly and effectively, using rotating brushes that work in the opposite direction of the sheet metal being fed in order to grind and basically sand down the unfinished material. These machines use a series of belts to grind and brush through even the heaviest dross accumulations.
