GE Machinery – Deburring and Metal Finishing Machinery
Where weld has built up to join areas together, it is usual to return the join and surrounding heat-affected zone to the original dimensions, original finish and to blend the adjacent areas and weld. GE Machinery has machinery from “white finger” vibration free, power-to-the-elbow workshop machines to fully-automated lights-out systems complete with internal quality control and materials handling.
The first stage of weld finishing is the removal of excess stock from the weld itself. The goal is to grind the joint down to an even surface with the rest of the parent metal.

The process of weld dressing allows you to grind back excessive weld, giving it the same finish and grain direction as the surrounding areas. GE Machinery have a variety of machines to carry out the many different weld dressing processes, including: preparation and removal, blending and shaping of seam welds, and smoothing spot and puddle welds. In addition, both automatic and ‘power-to-the-elbow’ solutions for small batch work or heavy duty operations running 24/7 are available from GE Machinery
